I've been a Zoos Victoria member for over 10 years, and Werribee Zoo never gets boring! It's a short drive from the surrounding suburbs, which means that there is minimal traffic and it's usually easy to find parking spaces. The cafes have a good variety of food and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The animal enclosures are well-maintained and spacious, giving the animals plenty of room to move around. I love being able to get up close to the animals on the safari bus and see them in their natural habitat. It's a great day out for the whole family!
Highlight of my trip! Our guide Georgia was so knowledgeable! I purchased the Deluxe Safari and this is well worth it. The general public bus was provided and included in admission, but was a large bus that held about 100 people, including children. With the Deluxe Safari, we were in a smaller group of about 15 people and had a much more intimate and informative experience. We got to see animals up close and our guide answered all of our questions. Highly recommend!
That's a great place to have a family walk or have a train ride through this Zoo to face a tradies from the train at arm’s length, but it doesn't feel like Safari tour at all, as all the animals a quite away from you and the train most of the time going fast so you can’t get a good look at them. The train was very crowded and it was hard to see anything. The walking paths are well-maintained and there are plenty of viewing areas. The primate enclosure is fantastic and you can spend hours watching the gorillas and orangutans. Overall, it's a nice zoo but the safari experience could be improved.
