200km of unsealed road can easily take up to 4h to get from junction to Kings Canyon! Great experience to drive through 4wd track and get to see wild animals with the strong character of landscape. PS. A long way a few people lost their wheels (caravan, trailor that not a good tyres for dirt road)

We were quite worried about taking the Subaru Forester (MY13) on this road as it is not 4WD (but it is AWD). The road gives you a bone rattling drive (thanks to about 70km of corrugations), however in the end it was OK. The car was fully equipped with camping gear and proved to be very reliable throughout the entire trip. We loved the freedom of being able to drive wherever we wanted and explore the beautiful landscape. Overall, a great experience!

Driving 200km on an unsealed road can be a challenging experience, but the Mereenie Loop Tourist Drive was worth it. The road was in rough condition with lots of corrugations, but our 4WD vehicle handled it well. Along the way, we encountered wild animals like horses, camels, and donkeys, which added to the adventure. It was a long and tiring drive, but the stunning scenery and the sense of isolation made it a truly unforgettable experience. Make sure to plan enough time for this drive and bring a reliable vehicle.

However, we noticed that some people had difficulties with their trailers and caravans due to unsuitable tyres for dirt roads. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would recommend this drive to anyone seeking a unique outback experience.
