Coalfields Museum and Historical Research Centre reviews
It's definitely well priced at $5, however I would say it's more a 'collection' of old things, rather than a museum. …
Great spot to learn about the history of the town. Including, but limited to, coal mining. Run by locals who give their time generously. So take a look and show your support.
What a wonderful museum!! So much history and way bigger than it looks. We were treated to listening to the old coin operated piano and an original wax cylinder Edison phonograph. We spent over an hour in this museum and loved our step back in time - and not just related to the coalfields.

It's a decent place to visit if you're interested in coal mining history. There are some interesting artifacts on display, but it could use more interactive exhibits.
I found the museum to be quite small and underwhelming. It felt more like someone's personal collection rather than a proper museum. I think they need to expand and add more exhibits to make it more interesting.
The museum had a good collection of artifacts related to the coal mining industry. The volunteers were knowledgeable and friendly. However, the museum itself was a bit outdated and could use some renovations.
I enjoyed my visit to the museum. It had a nice collection of historical items and provided interesting information about the coal mining history of the town. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
The museum is well maintained and the staff is friendly. It offers a good insight into the history of the coalfields and the town. I would recommend it to anyone interested in learning about the local history.
I was pleasantly surprised by the museum. It had a variety of exhibits and provided a comprehensive overview of the coal mining history of the area. The entrance fee was reasonable and I felt it was worth the money.
