Useless. Phones not working. On hold for hours. Yet, they are quick to send you rates and follow ups for payment etc. Further, council parks and green areas have grass up to 2m in areas..hasn’t been cut all year! Useless. Ripping off the tax payer day in day out! How can we change this? Please comment below!
I got fined by council for parking at Costco one day, which is 3P sign posted. I am a healthcare worker who got called into work at The Northern Hospital during a time when the staff car parking was being rebuilt, and i thought i was doing the right thing by parking away from where the builder was working. I was the only car in this area at the rear of the car park. It was obviously not manned that day, so the dog catchers must have come across it by chance. I called to speak with council, advised of my situation, and pleaded for leniency - especially at a time when they sing the praises of hospital workers...but was met with a very OFFENDED response stating I couldn’t possibly ‘requiring’ anything over the phone. They refused to transfer me through to a counsel officer instead, the ‘non-emotional’ gentleman, as he stated he was, refused to progress my call. Never in my life have i come across a more rude, confrontational, inconsiderate public servant as when i spoke to council that morning. He actually hung up on me.
They do not even justify why they would reject the case in an appeal for a parking fine (because they have none)... also, $111 is a bit of a rip-off for parking in quiet, residential areas. This council is extremely disappointing in their handling of this case. How are we meant to believe they are out here and care for us?

I had a negative experience with the City of Whittlesea Government office. I had a case for appeal for a parking fine and they did not provide any justification for rejecting the case. Furthermore, I feel that the fine amount of $111 for parking in quiet residential areas is excessive. I am disappointed with how the council handled my case and question their ability to serve and care for the community.
I tried contacting the City of Whittlesea Government office, but their phones were not working. I was on hold for hours without being able to speak to anyone. However, I have received prompt rates and payment follow ups from them. Additionally, the council parks and green areas have not been maintained properly, with grass growing up to 2 meters in some areas. I believe the council is not providing adequate services and is taking advantage of taxpayers. We need to find a way to change this.

I recently received a parking fine from the City of Whittlesea Council for parking at Costco, where there was a 3P sign posted. I explained to them that I am a healthcare worker who was called into work at The Northern Hospital when the staff car parking was being rebuilt. I thought I was doing the right thing by parking away from the construction area, as there were no other cars parked there. However, the council refused to show any leniency or transfer me to a council officer. I was met with rudeness and an offensive response. I was extremely disappointed with their lack of empathy towards healthcare workers.
