BJRU run an absolutely ridiculous comp for u/8s. You end up travelling 40mins to play a team from your own club. Its pathetic, 8 weeks in and only one home game. We signed up with the thinking we been at our local club every 2nd week. My boys will not play rugby again next year, the set up just ruins family time on Saturdays.
Overall, my experience with Brisbane Junior Rugby Union Rugby club was very frustrating. The competition for the under 8s was poorly organized, with teams from the same club even having to travel 40 minutes to play against each other. This was a waste of time and ruined our Saturdays. We only had one home game in 8 weeks, which was disappointing. I had hoped for more family time at our local club. My boys will not be playing rugby again next year because of this setup.
