Not really sure where to start. We visited during school holidays. My husband and I brought our 2 kids, after seeing on the website they did train rides, as our youngest is obsessed with trains. There is a sign out front advertising the train rides. We paid the entry fee and then got told the train rides were not currently running. Very disappointed kids. That should be updated on the website or sign should be removed. We had packed sandwiches for lunch but there was nothing stopping us from enjoying a lamb burger. Exceptional. fresh! husband ($10), kids $7 each. There was also a sausage sizzle and hot food available. The BBQ areas were huge. No problem with space. Definitely lots of animals to see there but it is pretty average. Presentation feels like it has been neglected, the area is dirty and rundown. It looks great from the outside so that invites you in. Once you’re in though, it was just super average. Some birds talk. They are very interactive. Staff talk a fair bit and give out information. They have long hair and give hipster/kiwi vibes. They know a lot about the animals too. The gift shop was bigger than I was expecting. They have lots of standard Australian products like Ugg boots but also quite a few animal stuffed toys. I thought it was pretty good value for money. $34 for the 4 of us to get in, which included 2 kangaroo food cups ($5ea). And the food was reasonably priced.

I was quite disappointed with my visit to Birdland Animal Park. The park looked rundown and some of the enclosures seemed too small for the animals. The staff were not very friendly or helpful, and the train ride was not operational. The only highlight was feeding the kangaroos. I would not recommend this park to others.

Birdland Animal Park is a great place to visit with kids. There are a variety of animals to see and the staff are friendly and helpful. The train ride is a fun activity for kids, and the feeding sessions with the kangaroos and birds are a nice touch. The park is clean and well-maintained. Highly recommend.
