The Army Museum of New South Wales is still closed despite the lifting of Covid restrictions. I am fully vaccinated and willing to wear a mask, but I am disappointed that I cannot visit the museum.
The location of the museum is great, with beautiful yellow sandstone buildings and grey slate roofing. The Visitor Barracks Corps of Guides offer an excellent commentary on VB. Tours are held every Thursday at 10am. Visitors must show photographic ID and be at the Pass Office on Moore Park Road at 9.30am to be processed.
The Army Museum is a hidden secret that is open to the public. Every Thursday, the Victoria Barracks tour guides give a detailed tour of the historic barracks and share stories of war and peace dating back to the beginning of Sydney town. Highly recommended.
