Had a wonderful educational experience at the ANZAC Memorial in Hyde Park. I have to thank our “guide”, Ashleigh, who met us at the entrance and asked if we had any questions. I think I said “can you start at the beginning?”, which she was more than willing to do. She explained the history, the exhibits and the importance of the Memorial in a way that was engaging and informative. She also had a good sense of humor which made the experience even more enjoyable. The Memorial itself is a stunning architectural tribute to all those who gave their life for Australia in two world wars and all conflicts. It is located in Hyde Park, close to the Museum railway station. The building is built in the Art Deco style which adds to its beauty. Inside, there is a collection of memorabilia from various conflicts, and it is truly breathtaking. The museum also has interactive displays and videos which help to transport you back in time and give you a sense of what it was like to be a soldier and to live through war. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at the ANZAC Memorial. It was both educational and moving, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sydney. I would like to give a special thanks to Ashleigh for being such an amazing guide and for making the experience even more memorable.
